CoreWeave Appoints Former AWS Executive Jon Jones as First Chief Revenue Officer
AI infrastructure firm CoreWeave has named Jon Jones, a veteran Amazon Web Services executive, as its inaugural Chief Revenue Officer. The move signals aggressive expansion plans for the specialized cloud provider amid booming demand for AI compute resources.
Jones brings two decades of technology leadership, including key roles scaling AWS's global startup ecosystem and go-to-market strategies. His appointment follows CoreWeave's recent hiring of Max Hjelm to build out its sales organization.
"We're entering a hypergrowth phase that demands experienced leadership," said CEO Michael Intrator. The hire comes as CoreWeave actively pursues strategic acquisitions to bolster its infrastructure capabilities.
Jones emphasized the critical intersection of technology and commercialization in AI: "Success requires both groundbreaking systems and disciplined growth execution." His mandate will focus on aligning sales, product development, and customer acquisition as competition intensifies in the AI infrastructure sector.
